Pink - So What

Somehow Pink has outlasted her inevitable status as a One Hit Wonder; to quote Murray from FOTC "their first single got to number 1, their second to number 13, their third to number 37 - their a hit making machine!"

Na na na na na na
Na na na na na
Na na na na na na
Na na na na na

As we all know Pink is a mature lady, and as such opens with a mature and thought provoking statement.

I guess I just lost my husband
I don't know where he went
So I'm gonna drink my money
I'm not gonna pay his rent (nope)
I've got a brand new attitude,
And I'm gonna wear it tonight
I'm gonna get in trouble
I wanna start a fight

It appears Alicia Moore (Pink's real name for those of you not in the know) is having a tough time at the moment. She's gone out for a nice shopping trip in town and has managed to lose sight of her husband (for legal purposes I shall be simply referring to him as Pink's husband), something she is not the slightest bit amused by. This seems to be the final straw for the tempestuous colour-named punk-rocker (hah!), and she's decided it's time for a trial separation and all that comes with it.

As a result Pink's husband has been financially set adrift, and the results of that are unseen or heard of. It's also hard to say if her husband is even aware of what's going on, as he is remaining oddly quiet. He could still be lost in the shops as, let's be fair, the shops are scary distressing places for men. Debenhams for one is particularly frightening, and so he could be left alone and scared not knowing where his wife is. He may have even brought her a gift too. That could go some way to explain why Pink in reality seems to be reconciling with her husband, after this hard hitting - raised middle finger - of a song. She sure proved a point there. In the meantime though Pink is resorting to one-upmanship and trying out a new 'attitude' which seems suspiciously close to her old one...

Na na na na na
I wanna start a fight
Na na na na na
I wanna start a fight

Ok then Pink's new persona is perhaps a little bit more aggressive than her previous one (I think). She's decided that she wants to take revenge on all men (I suspect that's the way the song seems to be going) and wants to start picking fights. It's nice to see that Pink likes to be the bigger person during marital separation, I bet new suitors are queuing up to go out with her after that display.

I like her way of picking a fight though. Can you imagine going up to a big angry looking skinhead and saying "na na na na na I wanna start a fight?" The comedy value could be worth the pain. Maybe a night in the cells will put an end to Pink's silliness, she might be famous but that doesn't make her above the law. Actually the thought of Pink in prison is quite funny; I'll shut up now and just let her get arrested. I also would prefer not to get in a fight with her.

So,
So what I'm still a rock star
I got my rock moves
And I don't need you
And guess what
I'm havin more fun
And now that were done
I'm gonna show you tonight
I'm alright
I'm just fine
And you're a tool so
So what
I am a rock star
I got my rock moves
And I don't want you tonight

Well my protestations that famous figures aren't above the law is being unheeded by Pink. Still as she says, she's "still a rock star", so there's something positive to look at. I had no idea that "rock moves" were qualifications for being a rock star, but in Pink's mind - at the very least - they are. What are rock moves for that matter?

In spite of a bitter break-up Pink is rather sticking the fact she's having a lot of fun, down her ex's throat. As I said before Pink is a mature lady and knows how to act maturely (sarcasm alert!), I'm sure the thing that would say to the world "Pink is a very clever and independent woman" is that she should go to a local club and get-off with as many men as possible.

Unh Check my flow Uohhh

NO! Just NO!

The waiter just took my table
And gave it to Jessica Simps
(Shit! )
I guess I'll go sit with drum boy
At least he'll know how to hit
(Oops)
What if this song's on the radio,
Then somebody's gonna die! haha
I'm going to get in trouble,
My ex will start a fight

Pink has a chip on her shoulder about Jessica Simpson stealing 'her table' at her favourite restaurant. This must be a truly traumatic and life-changing moment for Pink who's rock moves had guaranteed her any table she desired until recently. Perhaps the rock moves are becoming weak? However, she's making the best of the situation by sitting with the drum boy (who I'm assuming plays the drums?) and making lewd sexual innuendos.

Perhaps Pink's uncouth behavior is the reason that Jessica Simpson has got her table. It is possible that Pink is an afficiano of fine dining, enjoying exquisite meals like frois-gras, caviar and other such delicacies, and her recent change of attitude is not in keeping with her favorite restaurant's etiquette. Then again considering Pink wants to fight everyone (and fighting doesn't feature on any restaurant's etiquette) should she be surprised she's being overlooked by more polite and better behaved celebrities?

You weren't fair
You never were
You want it all but that's not fair
I gave you life
I gave my all
You weren't there, you let me fall

Pink feels very upset by being banned from the restaurant for fighting and insists that this is not fair. Considering the hours and money she's spent in the restaurant, she feels that she should be permitted special treatment. Then again it's one thing to expect special treatment and quite another to beat up a Michelin star chef with a lobster. It's a shame it wasn't Claridges in London, as I think the thought of Pink fighting Gordon Ramsey is quite a funny one.
