History in the making

In lieu of his inaugaration this week, we have a special contribution (ish) from BARACK OBAMA who writes (ish) this weeks foreword.

Hi there. I'm Barack Obama and tonight we're going to be making history on this historical website, Video Killed The Radio Star. This week we have four historical songs which Tom and Dave - both SIGNIFICANT figures in history who are worthy of my words, here, today, on this historical day. I don't claim to have had a tough life, not as tough as Tom's anyway (just the one pool table - a historical injustice), but I'm here today and I'm here now and together, we can change history. I have a vision of America and I also have a vision of Video Killed The Radio Star (ed. (dot org)) and one day I only hope people will look back on this great era we're about to pass in to and remember history fondly.

So what historical pieces are there this week?

Go to a Coldplay "gig", wear a Coldplay t-shirt, sing along to every song and die a little inside every single minute.

The Cold Play are a band worthy of being described as historical in every way, and Tom has had a look at Violet Hill.

I can imagine Gabriella on the deck of a boat, with zeal the like of Captain Ahab or the guy from Jaws, trying to catch the wave which killed her grandfather or something equally as vengeful.

Gabriella Cilmi WILL BE A GREAT FIGURE IN HISTORY. TODAY.

Duffy is not happy with her alleged status of being something on the side; the onion rings to this chaps Burger and a Pint deal. She wants to be the mans Gourmet Burger however, and for him to happily acknowledge that he's willing to pay £6.50 - AND EXTRA for a pint - for her than, er, the £4.50-odd for the Burger and a Pint Deal.

Last year the critically acclaimed and award winning English (ed. see even Barack Obama thinks Wales is part of England!) girl Duffy had a historical hit History.

However may I be the first to welcome our new Fuehrer, and beg her eternal mercy for being in her untermensh of those who observe. PLEASE DON'T SEND ME TO THE ENTERTAINMENT CAMPS BRITNEY!

...and Mr. Obama didn't quite have the time to write that one unfortunately. But it's a fantastic piece by Dave about Britney Spears and her far-right leanings.

Until next time,

Ciao x
